Activities

Take a journey through the South Pacific's legends and legacies, and enjoy an evening of Big Island luau feasting, music and dance. The Kona Coast's spectacular oceanfront sunset setting is the perfect background for the exciting Polynesian rhythms of the Lava Legends and Legacies Luau show. Follow the call of the conch, the lighting of the torches, the beat of the native drums and escape to the Hawaii of your dreams. After your shell lei greeting, relax with cool tropical trade winds, enchanting Hawaiian melodies and enjoy Hawaiian arts and crafts. Then the unearthing of the Kalua pua'a (roasted pork) takes place, and it's time for the all-you-can-eat luau dinner buffet. Following dinner and a Pareo Fashion Show, sit back to enjoy the Legends and Legacies Polynesian spectacular.

The manta ray night snorkel was voted "one of the top 10 things to do in your life" by the Travel Channel! Experience the Kona manta ray snorkel yourself and see what all the fuss is about. You'll journey only five minutes off the Big Island's west coast to reach the snorkeling site. As the vessel's diving lights shine through the crystal-clear water, these gentle giants arrive to feed on plankton. Jump in the water for a once-in-a-lifetime chance to night snorkel with Hawaii's friendly manta rays. By using dive lights that are safe for the mantas, you'll be able to attract and get close to the mantas. These big and beautiful animals are truly amazing, boasting wingspans that can exceed 15 feet (4.5 meters) in width! They are completely safe to be around, so hop aboard for the aquatic experience of a lifetime!

Treat yourself and loved ones to a traditional lei welcome, featuring beautiful, fresh local orchids. This is the perfect way to start your family vacation, honeymoon or special occasion. The history of the lei dates back to the ancient Hawaiians, who wore braided leaves, native flowers, shells, feathers, stones and bones to beautify themselves. They often offered these garlands to each other and to their gods as a symbol of love and friendship. Leis are still carefully handmade by Hawaiians, weaving fragrant, colorful flowers and leaves together to create a work of art. A symbol of Hawaii, leis are worn on all special occasions and given to family and friends as gifts of love.

Journey deep into Hawaii's Volcanoes National Park and discover the Big Island's fascinating volcano-fueled ecosystem. Experience the magic of Pele's creation with breathtaking sunset views of Mauna Kea and Mauna Loa. From an erupting volcano to a native rainforest, there is something for everyone on this small group day trip! The excursion begins as you travel between two of the world's largest mountains, Mauna Kea and Mauna Loa. The region between these volcanoes is locally known as the Saddle and is home to some of the rarest plants and animals in the world. Your professional guide will lead you through the must-see spots and hidden gems of this World Heritage Site and International Biosphere Preserve. As conditions change daily, your experience will be tailored to suit the current eruptive events. The summit caldera, steam vents, cinder fields and native rainforests are all on the "must see" list.
